Design competition 2021

Wearable art

Be in to win your own 3D Printer!

Keen to learn a new skill?

Or to put your design expertise to the test?

WEN have something exciting for you. We are hosting a FREE Design competition for high school students where we will teach you how to use CAD software to create something cool and wearable – think necklaces, rings, earrings, belt buckles etc. This is a great opportunity to get a taste for some of the tools and processes used at university. Get involved for an awesome experience along with the chance to win some extraordinary prizes!

In this competition, we will walk you through the design process of coming up with a concept, and implementing it in CAD, using Fusion360 or Tinkercad. Learn design skills that will give you a head start if you are considering pursuing an engineering degree at university.

Register now for this amazing learning opportunity and you will get access to online tutorials created by our own students at UoA and join a community of like-minded high school students.

The top submissions will have the opportunity to come to the University of Auckland, have a tour of the university and 3D print their own designs in the University of Auckland’s 3D printing lab. Plus the winner will take home their own 3D Printer!

Who can enter?

The competition is open to all New Zealand high school students who self-identify as female.

There are a number of prizes to be won so get involved!
